AI Crawler Checker FAQs
What is GPTBot?
GPTBot is OpenAI’s web crawler used to collect content for training models. OpenAI uses separate agents, OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User, for ChatGPT search and browsing.
Should I block AI crawlers?
It depends on your goals. Blocking search-focused bots can remove you from AI answers; blocking training bots limits use of your content for model training.
Does Google-Extended affect Google Search rankings?
Google states that Google-Extended controls use of content for Gemini models and does not affect inclusion in Google Search.
How often should I check?
Check after any robots.txt change, CMS or plugin update, and when new AI crawlers are announced.
